Cyber Safety – We are All Responsible

The workshop will highlight the various organizations that are working together to ensure child safety on the Internet. A summary of the Cyber Safe Summit that was held in Charleston in February 2009 will include the proclamation by Governor Manchin of Cyber Safety Day in WV. Using the available resources of Netsmartz and I-Safe, the following cyber issues will be discussed: Cyberbullying, cyberstalking, Child Sexual Exploitation, Internet privacy, social networking, sexting, and Internet security. Specific video clips and online activities will be presented for each of these issues. The session will conclude with a look at all the available resources online along with contact information for professionals who are willing to bring the message to your students.
